Oceanía, el cielo

Henri Matisse creó «Oceanía, el cielo» en 1946, después de un viaje a Tahití. Inspirado por los recuerdos de su viaje a la Polinesia, recortó en papel siluetas de aves marinas, peces y corales, y las dispuso sobre un fondo blanco crema.

La obra captura la esencia del Pacífico Sur en una composición ligera y de ensueño, que respira la libertad y la belleza naturales del océano.
